The Gingerbread Man

On Friday, December 11th, we made Gingerbread Men. They jumped out of the oven in the cafeteria, scaring the poor cook, and ran away!

In room 1, our Gingerbread Man left us clues where he was running to. We followed him to the library but found Santa instead! He sounded a lot like our buddy class's teacher. Then the note told us to go back to our room. That's where we found him!

In room 2, our Gingerbread Man ran towards the office. Mrs. Weiss saw him heading to the playground. So we went to the playground but only found some crumbs. Then we followed our noses back to our classroom and found him sleeping in the teacher chair.

In room K, the cafeteria cook called us when the Gingerbread Men opened the oven door and ran out. We searched for them around the school and playground. Mrs. Minasian saw them run in the room and we caught them.

And they all were eaten by the happy children. Here are some paper gingerbread men we made to remember them.

Discovery Science Center

On Wednesday, December 9th, the Kindergarten class hopped onto a bus, rode down the freeway, and arrived at their field trip. This year, we went to the Discovery Science Center. It was so much fun. The children were able to touch, look, and see many different things about science. Their favorites included: the gingerbread houses, the rock wall, hockey, and the shadow wall.

Wonderful Writing! I am amazed how the children are taking off in their writing. These two samples were from a day when I was testing children for the district math benchmark. I thought journal writing would be awful that day with the children writing completely on thier own. But, wow did they surprise me!

Thanksgiving- Mrs. Marquez

We are Thankful!

We had a great Thanksgiving feast with Mrs. Long's class. We were the pilgrams and they were the Indians. I just love those pilgram hats although a few boys were disappointed not to be Indians. The children also wrote what they were thankful for. Here are a few:

Alexis- I am thankful for homework.

Destiny- I am thankful for all my teeth.

Aviana- I am thankful for my dog.

Victor- I am thankful for my teacher.

Valerie- I am thankful for my school and my family.

Darlene- I am thankful for my crayons and my mom.

Jazmine- I am thankful for playing.

Hannah- I am thankful for my mommy and my daddy.

Matthew- I am thankful for my friends.

...So cute! I am thankful for my wonderful students and my family!
